The RVA Friends of the Richmond Mounted Squad invite everyone to join the Officers of the Richmond Police Mounted Squad, working horses and dogs, pets, and fellow animal lovers for the annual seasonal ?Blessing of the Animals? at noon this Friday, Dec. 14, at the Shockoe Slip Fountain!
imals and celebrate the joy of companion animals at this special time of year. All are welcome and invited to meet the officers and horses of the Richmond Police Mounted Squad as well as some of the officers and K-9s of the Department?s K-9 Unit.
The blessing will be performed by Reverend Karen Thompson of Thompson?s Border Collies to recognize working anThere will be special seasonal music performed by Susan Greenbaum. Bring your pet or photo of a beloved pet, and pets and people encouraged to ?dress for the season.? Gifts of pet food to be donated to Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation (AARF).
