This is a part of a discussion that was on my facebook feed: "i don't understand what "feminist views" or "attitude" you're talking about. the cool thing about feminism is that with a fundamental set of beliefs you get to define what it means for you and what you believe about individual issues. obviously there is a stigma that comes with the word "feminist" because of how media portrays it. what i'm saying is that those ideas of equality are synonymous with the core beliefs of feminism and seem

seems antithetical to claim that you believe those things but just don?t want to call yourself a feminist because of some vague views or attitudes you think all feminists have??

People like this are so annoying. The cool thing about feminism is that it has no views, no theories, and therefore no goals or accomplishments! Like how awesome is that?! We believe in equality and have no plan to accomplish it! Somebody needs to tell her that movements do center around certain ideas, and if they didn?t they wouldn?t be worth shit. If feminism is whatever an individual makes it then ?feminist? is a useless label. Feminism is a movement with an ideology that anyone would disagree with if they knew how to think critically. It is not a synonym for equality, and as I?ve pointed out several times, it has made some pretty harmful impacts on society that are much worse than bad media portrayal.

As for ?feminist views? and ?attitude,? it?s apparent that there are common explanations that feminists give to every social problem they talk about, and this is one of those extremely popular, not well thought out answers that?s often used in an attempt to resolve feminism of any fault.
