Flooring Options for Your New Home

Flooring Options for Your New Home

A new home for you might entail the options of building your own floor plan or a predetermined plan. If you are in the arena of choosing and moving into your future home and its floor plan there is much to decide. Is this a house that you intend to live in forever or is this a temporary location? Perhaps you are in the middle and this new home could be the place you lay your hat for some time.

Either way, here are some great floor plans for each phase of life. To have enough room for the kids and for the parents, for the single or for the couple will be a decision you will never regret.

Singles, consider a great studio if you are in the market. Look for a studio that is large enough to breath, host and provide you the space you need. The advantages of a studio are that it is small and affordable. The disadvantages can be the areas they are located and some studios are more closet-sized than studio-sized.

Young couples think about a two-bedroom with some type of entertaining space. Whether this is a porch, rooftop, living room or dining room. As a young couple this extra room can prove to be the office, art room or exercise room that gives you some flexibility if a little one arrives.

Now for those who have a family, are in their career and looking for something in which to ?settle down?. You know what you want because you have coveted that floor plan for the past ten years.

If you do not know what you want then start with the size of your family and attempt to budget two people per room. If you are in an area that the cost of living is extraordinary, then this will not be as feasible as some lower cost areas but that is a starting point.

Next, evaluate your lifestyles and determine what would best suit you. Are you outdoorsmen? Do you prefer a good book? Do you need some space or are you okay with a tighter living area? A good middle of-the-road floor plan is one that will give you a dining and entertaining area while providing sleeping quarters and an outdoor area of some type. If you compromise any of those you will probably regret it very soon and this will probably be the house you stay in the longest.

The senior family who are graduating kids and marrying them off should consider downsizing. It is not always fiscally wise to downsize but often it will equate less cleaning, less upkeep and less headache. Go back to a two or three bedroom house while leaving a guest room. The kids will come back and you should have a room to accommodate them if you want to spend some time with the grandkids. Manipulation at its best!

Flooring is only one thing to consider when moving your home. Also consider these musts do?s before moving into your new home.
