How To Avoid Getting Wrecked | Some Wise Guy

wrecked-turtle-300I warned you yesterday.

I told you this book was dangerous. That reading?the free chapter of Wrecked would mess your mind up. That plenty of oblivious souls had already fallen victim to its infectious message.

If you didn?t heed my advice you?ll need these 5 handy excuses to avoid disrupting your comfortable life.

?Surely someone else will help?

After all, there are billions of people in the world. Odds are in your favor that someone else will lend a hand. You can?t be bothered right now.

?I don?t have time?

You?re a busy guy/gal. You?ve got work, family, friends, projects, church. Your schedule is packed. Plus reruns of Friends is on and you can?t miss the one where Joey speaks French.

?Sorry, I don?t have change?

Ever since plastic was introduced and all those nifty smartphone apps for mobile payment were developed you?ve never had a few coins or dollar bills in your pocket. And digging out your wallet would make you late for work.

?They might use it to buy drugs/alcohol?

With the homeless and needy you can never tell what their motivations are. Those guys with the cardboard signs saying ?God Bless You? probably have a penchant for Pabst Blue Ribbon and you don?t want to encourage that sort of thing.

?I don?t want to give just to make myself feel good?

Motives are everything. You can be selfless in giving to others if you feel too happy about it or only do it from a place of guilt. You?ll give next time when you?re in a better frame of mind.

Okay, enough funny business. Let?s get serious for a minute.

You and I have both used excuses like these to avoid helping others. Whether it?s a dingy homeless guy on the street corner or the hungry child in a World Vision commercial we?ve turned a blind eye.

The truth is I want you to read Wrecked. If you do you will never be the same because you won?t be able to enjoy the simple comfort of sitting on the proverbial couch while a life of purpose and impact passes you by.

Go ahead and take a peak at a life that can make a difference.

I dare you.

God doesn?t care about your motives or my excuses.

Just do good. Do something.

What excuse have you used to preserve a comfortable life and avoid getting wrecked?
