Hardware is the many physical components of a computer-the check, keyboard, mouse, printer, and tower (as well as, on a laptop, the base, keyboard set, and display screen) are most hardware. Although hardware is the things you will see, you do have hardware parts that you just can?t see, because they are connected or installed inside computer tower. This is called interior hardware. CDs and DVDs-the physical plastic compact disk is hardware that stores software programs to run on your hard drive.

Software is everything you can?t literally touch. It?s the programs and applications define everything that displays on the monitor, enables the hardware to run and communicate collectively, and performs tasks. Without software, your personal machine would just be a complicated pack of metal and plastic. There are basically two varieties of software: system software and application software package. Antivirus programs, Spyware scanners, Registry products, etc.
