RICHARD EARL HEIN, 93, of Port Charlotte Florida died Saturday August 4, 2012 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Florida. Richard was born May 25, 1919 in Erie, Whiteside County, Illinois to the Earl Jacob and Lula Anna Young Hein.
Richard graduated from Erie High School and the University of Iowa where he excelled in academics and athletics, met his wife Frances, and was named the outstanding Big Ten Conference Scholar-Athlete. In 1957 Richard and Frances and their family moved to Pittsburgh PA where he worked for the H.J.Heinz Company for the next 30 years.
