Domestic Violence! The Signs & Life After ? JustTalkin

Hello! First just a little bit about me:

Born Tara Gilliam on 04/25/1964 to Mack(deceased) & Gwendolyn Gilliam in Miami, FL.. I?m now a Mother & Grandmother and a Survivor of Domestic Violence throughout 2 Marriages.
My Mother & My Grandmother was Victims of Domestic Violence so I told Myself it would never happened to Me! Well Never say Never! Here?s My Story:

I got married at 17 years old against my Mother & Father wishes. They had to signed for me to get married because I told them We would elope. My first Husband Michael was 21 years old & I was just 17 & had just Graduated from High School. I was in Young and in love and even tough my Parents didn?t like my Husband for signs my Mother saw, We was willing to Elopement if they didn?t sign. We had planned to Marry a year later when I was able to Marry without My Parents Approval but than I found out that I was Pregnant. So We speed up the Marriage. Well even tough my Husband showed Me no signs of being abusive while dating and showed no Abusive or Disrespect towards Me or His Mother in front of Me; He became abusive once married. He raped me after 6 weeks after having Our first Child. I hadn?t had my 6 week check up yet with My Doctor so I didn?t have any Birth Control. By Me being His Wife He felt I didn?t have any right to say No to sex so I was Pregnant with Our second Child. My First Child & My Second Child are only 11 months apart! He tried to drowned Me while I bathe because I didn?t obey something He wanted Me to do at the time. I finally left Michael after Him jumping on Me one to many times! Once I left Him after of going back & forth to Him for years for the sake of my Kids, than came the Stalking, Threats & Attempts to Kill Me. I finally Divorced Michael after meeting my new boyfriend Neil who became Husband #2. He protected me from Michael and even tough He was an Alcoholic & We fought even before We got Married, I Married him anyway for the sake of My Third Child & My belief of having a Child out of Wedlock. Besides I thought If I Married him the Jealousy & Abuse would end! I married him after dating Him for more than 2 years off & on. I thought He was the Father to My Child. He told Me the Child was His & signed the Birth Certificated even after I told him to have a Blood test. I wanted to raise my kids with at least one of their Father! Me being of Christian values and all. The abuse got worse after Marriage or should I say stayed the same. I finally escaped from him too and filed for Divorce. Fearing he would kill me too because He Stalked Me & Attempted to kill Me more than once too. I filed Restraining Orders against Both Men. Each Husband spoke these words ?If I can?t have You Nobody Will?! Ladies Please! whenever a Man speak those words or similar words don?t doubt Him or take it for Granted! I ran from House to House looking for Safety for Me & My Kids! Constantly looking over my Shoulders and having Nightmares! Neil even started going to Church claiming he changed his ways. I wanted to believe Him because I wanted it to work that much and not wanting to fail at Marriage. We even starting attending Church together & He joined the Church. He asked Me to Re-marry Him after being Divorce for a Year. Soon after guess what? He stopped going to Church, Still drinking & the Abused started back again. It even started upon my oldest Child! So I Divorce Him a Second time. Because of those bad Relationships I opened up a Non-Profit Organization called ?Perfect Peace Inc.?. derived from the Scripture ?Thou will keep You in Perfect Peace all whose mind is stayed on Thee?. I also have an Inspiration CD out called ?Destiny? in which the title cut is dedicated to Domestic Violence Victims. I thank God today that I was able to get out of those Relationship Alive because as We all know some don?t! Well this is just a little bit of My testimony but I can right a Book on Domestic Violence, The Signs & Life after Domestic Violence. I hope My story Help Someone & God Bless You!
