From Wired How-To Wiki
You can turn an ordinary apple into a tasty smoking vessel, and eat the evidence after.
This article is part of a wiki anyone can edit. If you've made a bong with any other fruits, mmmm fruit...
Materials
- Apple
- Knife
- Pen (Preferred: Bic Round Stic)
- Small piece of foil
- "Tobacco"
Carve your fruit
Using the knife, carve out the core from the stem to about 3/4 of the way down. Do not carve all the way through to the bottom. You'll want a wider, concave surface near the stem, and a narrow tube the rest of the way. Don't worry about the scratchy part, but try to get all the seeds so you don't accidentally inhale one.
Insert the mouthpiece
Dis-assemble the pen so you just have the hollow shaft. Jam the shaft into the apple at an angle parallel to the table the apple is sitting on, about halfway down the apple until the pen reaches the hollowed core. Remove the pen (carefully) and get rid of any apple that's stuck in the pen by blowing in the other side, or with a thin rod or something. Insert the pen tube back into the hole you just made.
Make your bowl
Cut the tin foil down to about 2X2 inches. You can fold it over for more durability. Poke a few small holes in the foil with the tip of a different pen. Set the foil in the concave area on the top of the apple.
Enjoy
Put your "tobacco" on top of the tin foil, and spark that fruit. Then eat the apple, if you want. Or just toss it somewhere, it will compost eventually.
